Vélo Birmingham promises to be a celebration of cycling on a truly epic scale.
On the weekend of September 23 & 24 2017 Birmingham will host a spectacular 15,000 capacity 100 mile closed road sportive together with the third annual edition of the hugely popular BikeFest, the free cycling festival which includes a closed road family ride along with fun cycling related activities for all ages.
The action will kick off on Saturday morning when thousands of sportive riders begin to flood into Birmingham to collect their race packs and soak up the fantastic atmosphere.
As dawn breaks on Sunday morning, 15,000 riders will line up in the heart of the city ready to embark on the challenge of a lifetime. The closed road 100 mile route will take riders on an unforgettable adventure from city to country, passing through the picturesque counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire before returning to Birmingham.
We’re really proud that Vélo Birmingham is part of the Birmingham Cycle Revolution, an exciting Birmingham City Council initiative to inspire more people to cycle in and around the City, making Birmingham healthier, greener, safer and far less congested.
